1. Aims

Natural Science of Hainan University , which sponsored by Hainan University, is a interdisciplinary open access journal that fosters the advancement and impact of scientific research. This interdisciplinary journal publishes research from the global community spanning mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology and their interfaces, as well as seminal works from related fields such as engineering and technologies research. The journal highlights the interdisciplinary significance of these key research findings to the wider community. 

Committed to open science principles and orchestrated by active researchers, we promote the scientific community’s goal of enriching society by making the results of leading scientific research easily accessible.

Natural Science of Hainan University is committed to the development of innovative open science principles, featuring open and transparent peer review and decision-making processes.  A report containing the reviewer comments, editor decisions and author responses is linked to each published research article. Reviewers choose whether to sign their comments or remain anonymous.

The journal expects data sharing. Data supporting published research is archived in an appropriate public repository. Authors are required to provide a data availability statement to describe the availability or the absence of shared data.

Through its well-balanced Editorial Board and transparent editorial policy, Natural Science of Hainan University promotes the scientific community’s goal of enriching society by making the results of leading scientific research easily accessible.

In the collegial spirit of offering a fair and flexible treatment of submissions, Natural Science of Hainan University publishes works of scientists for scientists and is orchestrated by working scientists.

2. Scope

The scope of articles published in Natural Science of Hainan University includes but is not limited to mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and their interdisciplinary fields, as well as related areas in engineering and technological research, such as marine science and technology (development and utilization of marine biological, chemical, and dynamic resources in the South China Sea, advanced marine materials, marine equipment and technology, land-sea coordination and global change, etc.), digital and intelligent technologies (information and communication, spatiotemporal intelligence, cyberspace security, cryptography, computing and artificial intelligence, chip design, etc.), ecological civilization (ecological environment monitoring, tropical rainforest conservation and restoration, blue carbon ecosystem protection and restoration with land-sea coordination, island environmental governance and restoration, environmental health, etc.), life and health (One Health, medical equipment, drug development, biomanufacturing, etc.), emphasizing interdisciplinary integration and collaborative innovation. Submission scope includes but is not limited to the following Topics:
