Wanheng Li, research fellow and an expert recognized with the special government allowance from China State Council, currently serves as the vice president of Research Institute of Highway, Ministry of Transport, P. R. China. He is the director of National Engineering Research Center for Efficient Maintenance and Safety & Durability of Highways and Bridges, as well as the deputy chairman of China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization. Endowed with rich experiences in bridge inspection, evaluation, maintenance, structural monitoring, safety assessment, and durability evaluation, he has spearheaded and accomplished numerous national and provincial research projects, e.g., National Key R & D Program titled Sensing Technology and Application (Demonstration Application) for Safe Service Performance of Major Highway Infrastructure, Big Data-Based Intelligent Monitoring, Diagnosis, Smart Management, and Proactive Reinforcement Technologies for Water-Related Major Infrastructure; and Western Transportation Construction Science and Technology Project Research on Damage Assessment and Safety Reliability Evaluation Technology for Concrete Beam Bridges. He rewarded one Second Prize of China National Science and Technology Progress Award; four First Prizes and six Second Prizes at provincial and ministerial levels.

Daming Lin, Professor, serves as a Research Fellow at the Research Institute of Highway, Ministry of Transport, China. He also holds the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Highway and Transportation Research and Development and its English edition, HTRD.
With extensive expertise in highway disaster prevention and mitigation, Prof. Lin’s research focuses on glacial debris flow disaster mechanisms, subgrade resilience enhancement, and intelligent monitoring and early warning systems for highways.
Prof. Lin has led numerous national and provincial research initiatives, including projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, such as Research on the Snowmelt-induced Disaster Process of Kilometre-scale Glacial Debris Flow Valleys—A Case Study of the Tianshan Duku Highway and Geophysical Characteristics of Shallow Granite Rock Mass Structures—A Case Study of the CSNS Project, in addition he also leading the key research and development programs in Xinjiang.
Prof. Lin's contributions have been recognized with 16 provincial - level prizes for scientific and technological progress from organizations such as the China Highway & Transportation Society and the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics & Engineering. His research outcomes have been instrumental in supporting disaster risk prevention and control in plateau transport corridors.
