Prof. He is Dean of the Institute for Carbon Neutrality and Professor of the School of Environment at Tsinghua University. He is a Fellow of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He serves as the Vice Chairman of the National Expert Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection in China. His research interests include complex air pollution, coordinated control of air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, and carbon neutrality system. He was listed as Highly Cited Chinese Researcher by Elsevier (2014-2021) and Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate Analytics (2018-2021).

Prof. Jiang is a Full Professor in the CNCC Thrust under the Society Hub of HKUST(GZ). Before joining the HKUST(GZ),  he was a Senior Researcher and former Director of the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission in China. Dr. Jiang was a lead author for the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report. His research interests include energy and emissions scenarios, energy and fuel tax assessment, and energy policy assessment. He received his Ph.D. in Social Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology.

He conducts research on several continents.

Miranda Schreurs

Technical University of Munich, Munich, Germany

Prof. Miranda Schreurs is Chair of Climate and Environmental Policy at the Munich School of Politics and Public Policy, Technical University of Munich. She investigates environmental movements, green politics, and climate policy making both comparatively and internationally. With Ph.D. from University of Michigan, she has lived and researched in Europe, the United States and Asia. In 2023 she received the Technical University of Munich’s Sustainability Award. She is co-chair elect of the German Committee to IIASA and a board member of the Regulatory Assistance Project as well as the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies. In 2011, Prof. Schreurs was appointed by Chancellor Angela Merkel as a member of the Ethics Committee for a Secure Energy Supply. In 2016, she was appointed by the German Bundestag as a member of a committee established to bring citizens’ voices and ensure greater transparency in the search for a disposal site for highly radioactive waste. She was a member of the German Council on the Environment (2008–2016) and served both as Vice Chair and Chair of the European Advisory Council on Environment and Sustainable Development.

Professor Aoife Foley is Chair in Net Zero Infrastructure at the University of Manchester and leads the AVANTERN group. A recognised global leader in energy systems and sustainability, she brings nearly 30 years of experience in industry and academia. She has secured over £25M in research funding, ranks among the top 2% of scientists worldwide, with over 14,000 citations (h-index 55). From 2014 to 2023, she was Editor-in-Chief and Wind Editor of Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, guiding its impact factor from 5.9 to 16.3. Her research focuses on accelerating equitable, secure, and digitally enabled transitions to net-zero energy systems. Her work integrates power and energy systems engineering, hydrogen and energy storage technologies, transport decarbonisation, and climate-aligned infrastructure resilience. She holds a BEng in Civil Engineering, an MSc in Transport and Environmental Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Energy Engineering. A former MIT adjunct, she advises governments and industry on energy transitions, climate resilience, and policy. She has chaired or evaluated proposals for the EU, UKRI, Swiss National Science Foundation, Academy of Finland, and others.

Prof. Ding is Professor and Founding Chair of the School of Chemical Engineering at University of Birmingham. He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. He is the founder of UoB Centre for Energy Storage, and currently leads the UoB thermal energy conversion and storage group, and industrial decarbonisation taskforce. He has published 550+ technical papers with 450+ in peer-reviewed journals and filed 100+ patents.

Prof. Hao is Professor of the School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering at the University of New South Wales. Her research focuses on low-cost, high-efficiency thin film solar cells and tandem solar cells, researching on various energy materials including Si and compound semiconductor materials. Prof Hao now leads a strong group in the above areas, achieving a number of efficiency records on emerging thin film solar cells. She was awarded 2020 Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science and 2021 Australian Academy of Science Pawsey Medal.

Dr. Zhou is a Senior Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. She has led many international programs at LBNL on energy efficiency and greenhouse gas mitigation, often focused on China. Dr. Zhou is currently the Technical Program Manager for the Net Zero World Action Center. Dr. Zhou’s expertise includes integrated energy system and emission modeling, energy efficiency for end use sectors in buildings, appliances, industry and transport; and on microgrids/distributed energy resources as well as low carbon/smart city development.

Prof. Mi is Distinguished Professor and Director of the GATE Center for Electric Drive Transportation at San Diego State University. He is a Fellow of the Society of Automobile Engineers (SAE). Prof. Moment is Professor of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at UCLA. His research interests include applying advances in sensing, imaging, modeling, simulation, and materials to devise more reliable, efficient, safer processes for fine chemical, pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical products. Prof. Moment spent 16 years in the pharmaceutical industry as a chemical engineer at Merck & Co. and DuPont Pharmaceuticals before joining Columbia University and later UCLA. He was a member of the 2006 and 2010 USPA Presidential Green Chemistry award teams for improvements to manufacturing Sitagliptin (Januvia).

Prof. Xudong Jing is a senior energy expert with more than 30 years of international experience in technology innovation, field development and CO2 geological storage (CCS/CCUS). Prior to joining Nanjing University, he has held leadership roles with major international and national energy companies including Shell and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company in optimizing hydrocarbon recovery while minimizing greenhouse gas emissions. Prior to his industry assignments, Dr. Jing worked as a reader in the Faculty of Engineering at Imperial College London where he is currently a visiting professor. Dr. Jing is a Fellow of the UK Royal Academy of Engineering (FREng), Fellow of the Energy Institute (FEI), Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) and a Chartered Engineer (CEng). He is a Distinguished Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
