With the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, we are witnessing their rapid advancements in fire safety. Advanced techniques using AI have been developed and widely applied in the fields of fire dynamics, fire prevention, fire extinguishment, and fire risk assessment. This collection aims to serve as a comprehensive platform for presenting cutting-edge research and developments that leverage AI technologies, such as machine learning, computer vision, and predictive analytics, to create smarter, more proactive approaches for fire risk mitigation before incidents occur.
In this Special Issue, we will focus on the role of advanced techniques using AI for fire prevention, fire dynamics, fire extinguishment, fire risk assessment and other related topics, in helping to address the critical challenges related to fire safety in chemical industry (e.g., pool fires, spill fires and explosion), renewable energy storage system, electric power system and urban system. As there are still considerable challenges in fire prevention and extinguishment in the storage, transportation and production of chemical industry, topics related to them, such as gasoline/diesel fire safety, are also welcome.
Topics of this issue include but are not limited to:
