Journal of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (JBUTCM) Manuscript Review Process
Journal of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (JBUTCM) carries out a three-step review process for all manuscripts submitted.
Step One-Initial screening by editors
According to the Journal’s tenet of publication, editors-in-charge conduct a preliminary examination of the types and quality of the manuscripts. They decide whether these papers to be declined and or accepted for peer review.
Step Two-Peer review
JBUTCM maintains a database of nearly 500 peer reviewers nationwide in most areas of TCM expertise. The accepted manuscripts would then be sent to experts in the related fields for peer review. Every paper should be sent to two experts, one from the expert panel within the university and the other one from the external peer reviewers. The names of the authors are not disclosed to invited reviewers. If both reviewers suggest accepting the paper for publication, manuscripts would proceed to step three.
Step Three-EIC’s decision
Using peer reviews and editor’s suggestion, editors-in-chief decide whether to reject a manuscript or to bring it back for a third review. Rejection letters would be signed to corresponding authors.
